Meet the Roundtable Panelists & Moderator
Eric Urruti, Global Science & Technology Director and Director of Fiber Optic Materials – DSM / Covestro
- Eric Urruti is the Director of Science and Technology, and Director of Fiber Optic Materials for Covestro. He has over 20 years’ experience in the area of fiber optic coatings having worked for Corning Inc. for 17 years and 5 years with Desotech. While at Corning Eric chaired the standards group TIA Task Group FO-6.6.7 on Fiber Coatings during the years where most of the coating specifications test used today were developed. During his career Eric has ushered in a wide array of new technologies and has authored in excess of 80 patents internationally.
Jun Liu, VP Marketing — DSM / Covestro
- Jun Liu is the Global Marketing Manager of Covestro’s (previously DSM) optical fiber material (FOM) group. He has over 10 years of product marketing, development, and management experience in both semi-conductor and chemical manufacturing industries. Jun Liu holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Michigan Tech University, a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. His language skills cover Chinese, English, and German.
Sjaak Griffioen, Director Innovation, Strategy and Sustainability — Covestro
- Sjaak started his career at Sigma Coatings (now part of PPG) and worked there for 7 years, leading the Deco and Joinery paint research group in Amsterdam. In 1995 he moved to NeoResins as Industry Manager Adhesives and Film Coatings, followed by acquiring responsibility for the Adhesives and Graphic Arts business in 2000. Sjaak moved to the US in 2007 to lead DSM’s global Architectural business. He headed the North American region for DSM Coating Resins until he assumed his current position in October 2013. Now, since April 2021 under the Covestro umbrella he continues to drive economic prosperity, environmental progress and social advances creating sustainable value for
all stakeholders.
Stacey Siler, Global Marcom and Communications – DSM / Covestro
- Stacey Siler is the Global Marcom and Communications Manager at Covestro (previously DSM). She has over 15 years of diverse corporate communications and marketing communications experience, including: global communications, market and business communications, strategy development and implementation, media relations, internal employee engagement, integrated program and budget execution, globally. Prior to joining DSM/ Covestro, she was part of the Global Communications teams for BASF Corporation and BASF SE – for which she relocated temporarily to Ludwigshafen, Germany. Before that, she was responsible for, among other things, the Marketing & Business Communications at the Dow Chemical Company in Midland Michigan. From 2005 up to 2010, she was Adjunct Professor of Communications at Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan. Stacey holds a Master of Arts in Communication and Multimedia and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Advertising.
