Join industry-leading wire and cable suppliers, manufacturers, and end-users in Providence, USA this October to experience critical innovations and developments affecting the global cable and connectivity industry. For the past 72 years, international representatives from the communications, data, electronics, power, industrial, automotive, aerospace, and similar industries gather at the annual IWCS Forum for valuable networking, learning, and career and business growth.

Taking place Monday, October 14 through Wednesday, October 17 at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, this premier event features the traditional elements of the IWCS Forum plus additional new components that highlight trending developments in sustainability, energy transition, and broadband infrastructure.

Attendees will have increased opportunities to visit with supply chain leaders during this year’s event as a result of a new schedule structure and lunch concessions being added to the exhibition floor. The updated schedule begins Monday with Professional Development Courses, followed by the Plenary Luncheon featuring a keynote speaker.

The cornerstone of the IWCS Cable & Connectivity Industry Forum is the Technical Symposium, which begins Monday afternoon. As always, great care was taken while choosing the papers to be presented. Forty members of the IWCS Board of Directors and Symposium Committee, representing companies from ten unique countries, met in April to review technical paper abstracts. Resulting from the strong response to the Call for Papers will be an extremely high-caliber Technical Symposium that features multiple technical presentations in each of the following sessions plus a panel discussion on the important topic of sustainability.

  1. Codes and Standards
  2. Design, Testing, and Application for Copper Ethernet, PoE, and Energy Cables
  3. Advancements in Microduct Cable Technology
  4. Materials and Additives – Part 1
  5. Materials and Additives – Part 2
  6. Data Center and Edge Applications
  7. Material and Design for Optical Fiber Cable
  8. Specialty Applications and Fiber Modeling
  9. Rural Broadband and Cable Design
  10. Cable Sustainability and Recycling
  11. Emerging Trends in Optical Connectivity
  12. Optical Fiber Cable Manufacturing
  13. Outdoor Power Delivery and Utility Applications
  14. Poster Session

New this year, IWCS is excited to host the first, of what they hope to be many, supplementary breakout program that fosters discussion on broad trends critical to global connectivity. Taking place on Wednesday, the “Navigating the Energy Transition Smart Grid and Broadband Connectivity” program will feature topics such as:

  • The future energy grid
  • Power demand and communications interconnectivity
  • Large-scale and municipal infrastructure technology
  • Leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and automation technology for efficient transmission of power and communications

The Supplier Exhibition continues its two-day program, providing plenty of opportunity and incentive for all attendees to visit with premier suppliers from around the world. “IWCS really helps individuals stay abreast of the latest technologies and trends within the industry,” says returning exhibitor Chris Huntly of Cimteq by UL Solutions. Huntly continues, “The event was well organized, in a good facility with very good exhibitor booths and interesting presentations.”
