Kunihiro Toge received B.E. and M.E. degrees in mechanical engineering and D.E. degree in electrical engineering from Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan, in 1999, 2001 and 2007, respectively. He joined NTT Access Network Service Systems Laboratories, Ibaraki, Japan, in 2001.
He has been engaged in research on high-density optical fiber cables with rollable ribbons and optical fiber measurement technologies for evaluating optical fiber link. He has also been engaged in standardization work in ITU-T SG15 since 2012, and he has served as Rappouteur of Question, maintenance and operation of optical fiber cable network, during study periods of 2013-2016 and 2017-2021.
He is presently a senior research engineer, a leader of a research group developing advanced optical fiber sensing and measurement technologies for fiber link evaluation.
Dr. Toge is a member of the Institute of Electronics, Information, and Communication Engineers (IEICE) of Japan. He received the best paper award at the 12th OECC/IOOC in 2007.
