Mike is an Engineering Fellow at CommScope within the Cable and Connectivity Solutions business with over 25 years experience in optical connectivity. He leads their global standards strategy group and focuses on special research projects as part of the technology organization. Mike is the president of the Belgian Electrotechnical Committee (BEC) 86, convenor of CENELEC TC 86BXA, is a member of ITU-T Study Group 15, expert within TIA TR-42, and a delegate of IEC SC 86B.

He received the IEC 1906 award twice for contributions to cylindrical and rectangular ferrule optical interfaces. Mike holds over 55 US patents in the field of fiber optics and was named a CommScope Master Inventor in 2020. He received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1997 and his M.S. in Engineering Science in 2005 from Pennsylvania State University. Mike sits on the Penn State Harrisburg Graduate School Technical Advisory Board and is a past recipient of the alumni achievement award.
